One of the best pieces of homeschool advice I could ever give you is the Boy Scout Motto: Be Prepared!
A homeschool friend of mine was convinced that her child was going to be an auto mechanic. Her husband had mechanical inclinations, and her child brought home little stray engines. She didn’t worry much about math and he just did it when he felt like it. When he turned eighteen years old, he decided he wanted to be an electrical engineer. It had not occurred to them that he would need much math, or go into engineering, so they weren’t prepared, and had to scramble.
Be prepared, and provide a college prep education. For more information, check out my class called Planning High School Courses.
