I ran across a story in an article that referenced how much Lee Binz had helped the author with homeschooling high school, so I decided to give her a call. She had a special “Gold Club” membership which included access to her resources, a special email address, and a 20-minute phone consultation with her once a week to pick her brain about any questions or concerns I might have. I decided to take advantage of that since I could not rely on myself to remember anything about what I read in her articles or heard on her webinars. I downloaded everything she offered regarding high school credits, transcripts, extra curricular activities, etc., and I organized them in folders on my computer where I could access them at any given time. This was an invaluable asset to me during our 4 years of high school! Lee gave me access to links for all her resources that I needed to prepare for my daughter’s Freshmen year. She also had a form that detailed what I needed to do during each subsequent year of high school (subjects to consider, standardized tests to take with website addresses, when to apply for college scholarships, when to send transcripts, etc.), and during any given year would also point me to what I needed to read and download to prepare for the next year. Then, when I started doing my daughter’s transcript, college applications, scholarship applications, college visits, scholarship interviews, etc., I was constantly emailing Lee for advice and information. And, she never failed me! As a result of my Gold Club Membership, my daughter was able to graduate at 16 and get a $60,000 Presidential Scholarship at her university of choice.

I want you to know how much your work has meant to me. I attended your workshop at the AZ homeschool convention a few years ago and loved it. I started reading your books and attending your classes when my son entered ninth grade. How did you know us so well when we had never met? As a stay home mom, my husband and I did not have the finances to help our son even consider anything but a local college. We have always taught that debt for college was something to avoid at all cost. It was you who prompted us to send an application to the most expensive engineering school in the State. I thought we were out of our minds but did it anyway. Crazy for sure, but it worked. This fall our son will be attending University with full tuition paid for the next four years. It’s still too amazing to comprehend. Lee, you have given us such a gift. I am still pinching myself because it doesn’t seem possible. My son is heading to the college of his choice and only has to cover room and board for the next four years. He is starting to receive outside scholarships as well. My husbands family was not in favor of me staying home to school our kids. Even recently, my sister-in-law said I should have been working outside the home and homeschooling simultaneously. Ouch!!! When we received the financial package I couldn’t wait to tell my husband that I had just made $200,000. Of course my son has worked hard and his Senior grades, as a running start student, were amazing. His transcript was amazing. His course descriptions took me months to write but I am so proud of the results. I graduated him last month with a beautiful homeschool diploma. We had a huge party at the park and he felt so special. All because you showed me how to do the hard things well. You believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. God told me homeschooling was in my future and I doubted. He said He would walk beside me and give me the people I needed to do this task. He never once let me down. "I have attended all the workshops, and purchased several programs. I have enjoyed listening to all your advice, always given with humor and compassion. I was terribly frightened to begin homeschooling a special needs grandchild. Even though I have a teaching degree, with 12 years of teaching experience, I was afraid I would be unable to organize her curriculum, and address her learning styles and perform as her intervention specialist. I could not have done it without your advice and help. I also had him practice a timed essay - in pencil - which could only have helped too. I just had to share. This is for the small, private, Christian school that is ABET accredited for Computer Science. It's his first choice. The scholarship is worth approximately $100k over four years. Dear Lee, I attended the North Carolina Homeschool Conference several years ago when you were speaking. My daughter was just beginning High School and I felt lost. You were wonderful! I listened to the webinar the other day while working in the kitchen, and I was so encouraged! I am currently homeschooling the last four of our twelve kids, and have seen "real time" how well our graduates have done both in college and the work force. I mistakenly thought that it was best for the kids to have a "real" diploma from a "real" school in order for them to have a smoother transition into college or career. And to tell the truth, the kids wanted a real diploma as well instead of Mom's. Your latest newsletter is very inspiring. I liked the curriculum article and the straightforward tips on how to sort through all the various choices available. I watched Lee's 1 hour Grades, Credits and Transcripts Webinar. While  watching it, all of my fears melted away and I was reminded of why we started homeschooling in the first place! She gave me detailed instructions on how to grade our work, give credits, and make transcripts that included high school level work from previous years. Lee has done her homework, and done it well! I’m thrilled to be able to use her expertise to make my own transcripts for my children "Lee has also given me tips on making sure that I don't forget to include the extras that we do every day to impress colleges with our sometimes unconventional achievements. My son was thrilled when I told him that he could have his summer break back. After all, this is High School. This is the "real thing". It's time to have a real summer vacation. Just think, we may even learn a thing or two this summer, and don't worry, thanks to Lee, I'll be able to put it all on his transcript. ;0) 

Hello Lee, I recently attended your webinar, "12 Keys to High School Success" free workshop. I just wanted to compliment you on your presentation. It was very helpful and encouraging. And I think it was even better than previous presentations. Kudos! I particularly appreciated the month-by-month meltdown calendar! It was good to know that you understand and feel the difficulties; it provided a clear road map to present the 12 keys in a logical and applicable manner. It also provided a doorway for me to get connected again to the many resources I have already purchased on your site (after a couple of years of complete overwhelm when it pained me to even think on clicking on any more info/help...I guess I was stressed-paralyzed.) So again, thank you. (And I'm starting to put my weak areas first!)

I just wanted to say 'thank you SO much' once again for all your help and input. I don't know if this adequately expresses how appreciated your wise counsel is and what a help it's been to me. I would be fumbling and procrastinating if I had not ordered your transcript e-book and become a member of your Gold Care Club. I'm so glad my husband said OK to letting me stay on as a member. It's funny that you would be impressed that we are visiting colleges, because, really, without your training, I'd probably be going along with our day-to-day homeschool business, with college in the back of my mind, but not proactively preparing. I cannot tell you how much I have learned from you and your materials--I just wish I knew all this going into freshman year instead of senior year. But then I started perusing the Gold Care site, emailing and talking with you, ordering other materials, etc., which all has served to get me planning and moving toward accomplishing some goals that needed to be addressed. I feel as if I have had a crash course in college admissions, and now I am so into it, burning the midnight oils nearly every night. I have learned SO MUCH from your materials.
